    ABOUT THIS SESSION:

    We all prefer to deal with intelligent people and organizations. Rule engines have long been positioned as a means of allowing businesses to provide such intelligence in their processes: to make business decisions in a standardized and intelligent manner — the only problem being the infrastructure required in order to orchestrate the right data to the right rules at the right time. One new approach to solve this is Complex Event Processing (CEP) — the combination of generalized event processing with rules. What you will learn:

    • What CEP does and why it is interesting from a business rules perspective.
    • Event-driven architectures standards.

    ABOUT THE SPEAKER(s):

    Paul Vincent works in TIBCO’s Business Optimization product area covering Emerging Technologies such as CEP, with a special interest in business rules, an area in which he has worked for many years. He is a contributor to the OMG PRR and W3C RIF standards efforts, and has worked on rules projects in the US and Europe in financial services, government, defense, and manufacturing.
