The "OMG Certified Expert in BPM" Exam and the Role of Business Rules
ABOUT THIS SESSION:
The OMG and UML Technology Institute (UTI) have developed the “OMG Certified Expert in BPM” (OCEB), to certify practitioners in Business Process Management (BPM). Above the Fundamental level, certification divides into two tracks “Business and Technical” for Intermediate and Advanced certifications. At each track and level, Business Rules play important roles. The exam authoring team includes important BPM/BR thought leaders from different backgrounds. What you will learn:
- The extent and nature of the material covered in these important exams
- How business rules participates in organizations’ process maturity, architecture and governance
- The importance of enterprise decision management
ABOUT THE SPEAKER(s):
Tom Debevoise is an executive technologist with 20+ years experience BPM/Business Rules Practitioner, leader, trainer Member Object Management Group (OMG) BPM Practice Group. He has specific business rules experience in the fields of supply chain management, petroleum, pharmaceutical clinical trials and health care. He is the author of three books, The Data Warehouse Method, Business Process Management with a Business Rules Approach (2006), and A Microguide to Process Modeling in BPMN (May 2008). He is a contributor to numerous technical and trade journal articles.
Jon heads the OMG’s technology transfer program and is the leader of the “OMG Certified Expert in BPM” (OCEB) certification program. Jon also teaches the technical aspects and benefits of all of OMG’s specifications: The business specifications BPMN, SBVR, BPMM, and BMM; the modeling specifications UML, MOF and XMI; the Model Driven Architecture (MDA), and the MDA-based standards based on this foundation in vertical markets ranging from healthcare, life sciences, and telecommunications to manufacturing and financial systems. In this capacity, he presents tutorials, seminars, and company briefings around the world, and writes magazine articles and books.
