    ABOUT THIS SESSION:

Successful companies are increasingly involving business users in application development – empowering business users to be active participants rather than just passive recipients. Because business users bring business know-how and expertise to bear, those who are active participants improve both IT and business results. Traditional application development approaches and technologies exclude business users, and so a new approach is needed.

In this presentation, the speakers will discuss how a decision-centric approach and business rules technology, such as the Visual Rules Enterprise Platform, involve and include business users throughout the development process – from modeling to testing to deployment. Real-world examples will be used to show how empowering business users to be active participants in this way increases business agility, shortens time to value for new applications, and reaps great cost savings in application maintenance.
