    ABOUT THIS SESSION:

    This case study will present the business and people issues encountered by a large Australian federal government department in implementing business rules management for decision makers in legal, policy and operational areas. This implementation is business driven and uses legal and policy staff to do the business rule and semantic analysis and management. You will learn the issues and benefits of business rule management in terms of:

    • Business Lifecycle and Transformation
    • Cultural and Organizational change
    • Enterprise Governance
    • Legislative and policy development
    • Direct business people involvement


    ABOUT THE SPEAKER(s):

    Frank Habraken has been the project and program manager of multi-disciplinary teams setting up and implementing business rule management and decision making environments. The projects have been undertaken over the past three years as part of a major business and systems transformation at a large federal government agency. The previous twenty years he has been involved in business transformation, systems integration and business driven innovation in large organizations in both the government and commercial sectors.
    Frank has industry experience in government, mining, telecommunications, manufacturing, natural resources, forestry and finance within Australia and Europe. He has worked for BHP Billiton, KPMG, Australian State and Federal Government and Computer Sciences Corporation.
